Present:            Sara Rosplock, Wm. Darrell Cornett, Tami Orcutt, Greg Cacace,  Thomas Hauryski, Craig Smith, Paul Seager           

 

Attending:         Lynn Lyndes, Superintendent; Tim Allard, Business Manager, Karole Badeau, District Clerk, Jeff Allen, Brandi Lyn Morse, Jeremy Morse, Andrew Hain, Shirley Reed, Joeann Meek, Lisa Hawken, Angela Pavlick, Kathy Hagenbuch

 

The special meeting was called to order by President Tami Orcutt at 6:01 P.M. at the Campbell-Savona District Office Board Room followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

All in attendance were asked to turn off all cell phones at this time and the agenda for the evening was set.

 

The Superintendent’s Report, Business Report, Director of Instruction Report, Director of Pupil Personnel Report, Elementary and High School Reports were given.

 

 

On a motion by Smith, seconded by Cornett, and carried by all members present that the Board of

Education accepts the minutes of December 14, 2009 regular meeting and December 22, 2009 special meeting.

On a motion by Seager, seconded by Hauryski, and carried by all members present that the Board of

Education accepts the financial reports as presented.

On a motion by Seager, seconded by Hauryski, and carried by all members present that the Board of

Education approves change order GC-027 ($11,115) to Edger Enterprises, Inc.

On a motion by Seager, seconded by Hauryski, and carried by all members present that the Board of Education accepts the gift of $100.00 from Lorraine K. Loomis-Koenig in memory of Shirley Pruden to be used for the music department and, furthermore, that the General Fund budgeted expenditures for 2009-2010 be increased by $50.00 at budget code A2110-450-01-00-11 (elementary instrumental music supplies) and by $50.00 at budget code A2110-450-01-00-12 (elementary vocal music supplies).

Education appoints Bill Vollmer as a substitute teacher for the 2009 – 2010 school year.

Education appoints the following substitutes for the 2009 – 2010 school year retroactive to December 21, 2009:

Education appoints Thomas Hauryski as a member of the Audit Committee.

Education accepts the resignation of Brittany Curran as varsity softball coach.

Education accepts, with regret, the resignation of Deborah J. Vonderlin as Special Education teacher effective February 5, 2010.

On a motion by Cacace, seconded by Cornett, and carried by all members present that the Board of

Education accepts, with regret, the resignation of Margaret Clark as Special Education teacher effective February 5, 2010.

Public Comment

     Shirley Reed requested an after-school placement for athletes to stay for later practices.

 

 

On a motion by Rosplock, seconded by Hauryski, and carried by all members present that the Board of Education appoints Kelly White as Chairperson of the District CPSE and CSE Sub-Committee for K-6 in accordance with the provisions of Education Law, Section 4402 and the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, Part 200.3(a)(1) beginning February 5, 2010.

On a motion by Rosplock, seconded by Hauryski, and carried by all members present that that the Steuben County School Boards Association be dissolved effective June 30, 2010.

On a motion by Rosplock, seconded by Hauryski, and carried by all members present that the component school districts of the dissolved Steuben County School Boards Association become members of the Greater Southern Tier School Boards Association, and accept the proposed by-laws, effective July 1, 2010.

BOE close district buildings at 3:10 PM except for scheduled, supervised activities and activities

Education move into Executive Session to discuss special education classification, Committee on PreSchool Special Education, and negotiations at 7:11 PM.
