News from Campbell-Savona Jr/Sr High School

= I am sure you are all anxious to receive your schedules to see what the upcoming school year holds for you! Yo= u will find your schedule enclosed with this newsletter. Please pay close attention to the = dates designated for schedule changes and adding or dropping courses.<= /span>

= We are looking forward to a new school year with many new staff members and new ideas! I hope that you will a= ll come on the first day ready to work together to make it a great school year! It is important for all= of us to start the school year on a positive note with new goals and fresh energy= . We will all find that a good attitude and work ethic will be rewarded as the school year unfolds.

= I have some important information to share before the first day of school:

All students are assig= ned to a homeroom. Please repor= t to your homeroom on the first day of school for schedule updates, locker information, and other miscellaneous information.
The doors for break= fast only will open at 7:30 for all students. Students in the building prio= r to 7:57 need to report to the cafeteria. Students that ride the bus should get off when they arrive at t= he school to eat breakfast. Breakfast will end at 8:10. Students will not be permitted to l= eave first period to go to breakfast and will not be allowed to take breakf= ast food out of the cafeteria so it is important that they arrive on time = and ready to eat!
Last year students cou= ld choose to stay in the cafeteria rather than go to breakfast. This will= not be an option this year. = All students will need to report to homeroom by 8:05. If they arrive late and were = not able to get to the cafeteria prior to homeroom, they can receive a pass from their homeroom teacher to go to breakfast.
7^th grade students and 9^th grade students will receive new lockers th= is year. All other locker assignments for 8^th, 10^th, 11^th, and = 12^th graders will remain the same. <= /span>These combinations will remain the same as well. Locker cards will be distributed in homeroom the first day to issue new combinations and to= refresh your memories if you have forgotten.

Schedule Changes

We have reserved August 15^th, 16^{th,
and 21^st from 9:00-2:00 for the time for students to make change=
s to
their schedules. If you want =
to
change your schedule you must do it in person in the guidance office on tho=
se
days. There will be no change=
s made
after that date until school has been in session for two weeks. As in past years, the add/drop time
periods will begin at the start of the 3^rd week of school and
concludes at the end of the 6^th week of school. This timeline will once again be
strictly adhered to.}

7^th Grade Parent/Student Orientation Night

= Attention all 7^th grade students and parents: we will be having an Orientation N= ight on Wednesday, August 29^th at 6:00 PM in the Jr./Sr. High Auditorium. Your teachers, Mr= s. Hawken and Mrs. Potter will all be on hand to share with you some important information about the upcoming school year. The night will begin with a power = point presentation in the auditorium followed by any questions you may have for u= s. Please bring student schedules with= you that evening as we will be visiting classrooms after the presentation to he= lp the students become more familiar with the building. Important Information for Seniors……

= When students reach their senior year at Campbell Savona, they are eligible to e= arn some well deserved senior privileges. These include late arrival, early dismissal, and senior passes. We know our seniors are looking fo= rward to these privileges. There wi= ll be no senior lounge this year due to safety concerns. However, seniors can still earn the other privileges. Please read= the below information to learn how you can earn these liberties:

We will award senior privileges and passes to students after the first 5 weeks of school.
To earn and maintain a senior pass, seniors must have a good attendance record, be in good academic standing (passing their classes), and be a productive and positive member of the Campbell-Savona community (follow school rules = and expectations).

Student Parki= ng:

= There is one parking lot designated for student parking. All students will be expected to park in the front parking lot by County Route 125. Students will not be permitted to = park in or to enter the back parking lot until 3:10 when all of the buses have departed at the end of the day. If you plan to drive to school, please see Ms. Knowles to register your car. &n= bsp; = ;

Communication= is key:

= It is important to maintain good communication between home and school. Please call or email us with any concerns or ideas you have. Y= ou will receive a newsletter every 5 weeks so please be looking for them as th= ey will contain helpful information. You can also gather information from the school’s website www.cscs.wnyric.org or email staff members directly.
