    Prevention Strategies

    Campbell-Savona Plan

Vaccinations are highly encouraged but not required. As such, the health and safety measures in this plan will apply to everyone regardless of their vaccination status.

Currently, no one under the age of 12 is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine

    Consistent and Correct Mask Use

Campbell-Savona will use the CDC transmission level designation:

    ·       Universal Masking: Due to NYS Department of Health mandate, all teachers, students, staff, and visitors will wear masks indoors, regardless of transmission level and vaccination status

    ·       Mask breaks: Offered throughout the day

    ·       Cafeteria: Students and staff unmask while seated in the cafeteria

    Physical Distancing

Campbell-Savona will use the CDC community transmission level designation:

When possible, we will maintain at least 3’ distance

    Handwashing and Respiratory Etiquette

    ·       Teach and reinforce handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, on a frequent basis

    ·       Hand hygiene stations will be maintained, including handwashing with soap, running water, and disposable paper towels, as well as an alcohol-based sanitizer containing 60% or more alcohol for areas where handwashing is not feasible

    ·       Open bus windows in warmer weather to improve air circulation

    ·       Ventilation with fresh outside air will be provided in all occupied spaces

    ·       Director of Facilities will ensure that all occupied spaces will have an operable system to bring outside air into that space and that those systems are maintained to operate in accordance with the original design.

Staying Home When Sick and Getting Tested

    ·       Parent screening at home – no app or thermometers used

    ·       Students, teachers, and staff who have symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home and be referred to healthcare provider, regardless of vaccination status

    ·       Healthcare provider may recommend testing, regardless of vaccination status

    ·       Binex testing by school nurses will be offered at each school building.  Parent consent is required.

Contact Tracing, In Combination with Isolation and Quarantine

    ·       Campbell-Savona will follow the Steuben County Department of Health guidelines regarding contact tracing, isolation, and quarantine

    Cleaning and Disinfection

    ·       C-S will adhere to hygiene, cleaning, and disinfection requirements from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)

    Remote Instruction

    ·       Per the guidelines established by the New York State Department of Health (DOH), the district is expected to prioritize a return for all students to in-person instruction

    ·       No remote learning option will be offered this year
